About the artists:
Verónica Freidkes was born in Argentina and recently moved to the Bay Area. She is presenting her singing career, performing Tango and other latin rhythms. Her style is influenced by contemporary music like jazz, bossa nova, and also by her ashkenazi roots. Verónica invites the audience to the journey of every song, while sharing the joy of live music.

Scott O’Day
is a local Bay Area favorite for tango music, appearing regularly in concert and at the milonga. He attended La Escuela de Música Popular de Avellaneda, a tango music school in Buenos Aires, and has performed with several tango groups all around the U.S., Canada, and Argentina to popular acclaim. Currently, O’Day is also the instructor for the Community Music Center Tango Ensemble in San Francisco.

Sonja Riket enjoyed a long professional modern dance career in Europe and the USA before Tango found her in SF! She is faculty at SF Community Music Center for Argentine Tango Dance and Embodiment and Expression for Musicians. Sonja is a Certified Feldenkrais® and Body-Mind Centering® Teacher. She is proud to have organized, hosted and presented 40 CMC Mission Milongas on and off campus so far!

Every 2nd Saturday of the month, CMC and Tango dance faculty member Sonja Riket host a monthly Milonga (Argentine Tango social dance gathering) with a drop-in class and dancing to Tango music from the Golden Era and beyond. This Milonga series will include live music and dance workshops/performances by local and international Tango guests.

Enjoy dancing in the beautiful Victorian concert hall with smooth wooden floor and outdoor patio! Come to listen and watch or join in the dance. All ages are welcome!
