More details:
Violinists play concertos, not breakbeat electronica. But Chance's End, led by classically-trained San Francisco violinist Ryan Avery, is about to change that. Influenced by artists such as Groove Armada, Gotan Project, and Vanessa-Mae, Chance's End is fusing solo violin with electronic music, bringing the instrument well into the 21st century.
Ryan formed Chance's End in the summer of 2000 in his hometown of Boulder, Colorado before moving to San Francisco, California where he collaborates with Tango Revolution events. His sound is built around acoustic and electric violin, infused with strong melodic hooks, and polished with a thick sonic texture of breakbeat electronica. With Chance's End new album "The Outsider", the violin stands front and center of a gorgeous downtempo electronica landscape, creating a unique web of lush melodies and electronic beats.
His new album once again brings violin electronica to the masses, and its unique style is bound to turn some heads.
Tango Revolution is a weekly neighborhood educational project to offer anyone the opportunity to learn and experience the social aspect of Argentine Tango dance, music and history. By holding the event in an accessible café on a Sunday afternoon we encourage the spontaneous inclusion of music and dance in our everyday life as a communal experience. We believe in shared leadership of all genders and offer the beautiful connection in the Tango Embrace as a common ground and antidote against the isolation, separation and fearful existence we are led to believe is necessary. What better way to come home to ourselves and connect with each other across our differences than the non-verbal power of a musical and dance embrace, listening and moving together as one?
Tango Revolution is a program of Intimate Embrace Tango, which envisions Argentine Tango as a relational matrix of connection to ourselves, each other and the world. We organize classes, workshops, cultural, social awareness-and fundraising events around critical issues of our time. Come watch, listen or join in the dance! All ages are welcome. No dance experience or partner necessary.

Thomas and Jose’s friendship and musical partnership is a great example of how the power of the arts can bridge the differences between two very distinct cultures, one Korean and one Mexican.
They met during their studies at the SF Conservatory of Music and between them have won several awards, scholarships and competitions. Their talent and musical tastes brought together a dynamic and close collaboration during many recitals and concerts after their Master Degree graduation. Their debut CD reflects a culmination of their work together: a program of Tangos. Spanish dances, folk dances and jazz standards as a mark of “Historia” in their careers. As professional musicians they play with many symphonies and orchestras throughout California and have collaborated several times with Tango Revolution events. Their performance is infectious and undoubtedly will stir you to dance. Come out to support the debut CD of these talented musicians and be prepared to have a VERY good time at Tango Revolution!

Thomas Yee/Jose Rodriguez violin/guitar duo give preview sample of their new CD
On August 26 during our weekly Tango Revolution event at Caffe Trieste our friends Thomas Yee (violin) and Jose Rodriguez (guitar) will join our other musicians for a small preview of their debut CD "Historia" set to release on Sunday September 9, 2007. It is possible that there will be a tv crew filming at some time.
The days are shortening and the coffee and wine are good; come join us for a great time with music, dance and friendly conversation!
Daniel Binelli, the great bandoneon musician, after lingering with us for 3 hours, gave our event his stamp of approval: he whispered in my ear that the atmosphere of Tango Revolution reminded him of a 1920's Parisian Cafe.
Come see for yourself.
